Often the most difficult part of organising an event or activity for the first time is deciding what to
do. We try to help new members do this by encouraging them to organise their first few events with
established members of the club. This way, new members are readily introduced to existing members and
can also learn just how easy it is to organise activities in the IVC.
Most clubs use an an Event Form (example left) for members to submit the
events they wish to organize. To help and encourage members with organizing events,
the events form is often published in the club bulletin. Details of an event being organized
by a member are entered into the form, which is then sent to the Activities Officer.
The Activities Officer tries to ensure there is a balanced programme throughout the month
and that there are only complimentary activities on at the same date and time.
Have a look at our list below as a source of inspiration for that next event or
activity you might want to organise. These activities have been taken from a number
of IVC bulletins from clubs throughout the country. The list is not exhaustive, but it
does give an idea of the very wide range of activities that our members organise
for the club.
